The Baby Breininger Blog

Welcome friends! In 2007 we started this blog to share the status of our adoption process. After an excrutiatingly long wait, we travelled to Haiti in June 2009 and brought our girl home on July 15. Now this blog is a place for us to share pictures and videos, give updates and brag about how wonderful she is. Enjoy!

And Her Name Is...

To cheer us up since we think we're probably stuck here for many more days, we thought we'd let our daughter reveal her new name to you. In the video at the top left of this blog page, you'll hear me say, "Hello! Como relle?" (meaning, "What is your name?") And you'll hear her reply, "Baby. Baby ______" Just in case you can't understand her with our dazzling technology, I'll post her written name in the comments section of this posting. Enjoy!

She'll be grateful in kindergarten :) Breininger is a big enough name for a wee one to learn to spell!! Hopefully she can get by as Maya B. for a good long while! Congrats!

Oh Allison, I'm sitting here in tears. I hadn't checked your blog in so long and I come and find all these glorious posts and pictures of you and Maya. God bless you and keep you all safe, and may He grant you ever more patience as you wait to come home. You'll be in my prayers.

Off now to dry my eyes before heading over for worship.

Congratulations again! Thanks for taking the time to update all of us.

We, too, were delayed in Moscow beyond what we had anticipated. In retrospect (at the time it was really frustrating), we wouldn't trade that time. Maya is bonding with you in her own country and that will give her a lot of security as she embarks on total culture shock in a bit.

The Lord is with you and will not test you beyond what you can bear.

BTW: Love the new hair style!

Allison & Sean,
Welcome to little Maya; I have had tears all day since you were in the St.Paul prayers. Thank you for taking the time to share the photos and video with everyone, so that we can rejoice with you. I sent it to Abby in Scotland; she'll be so happy for you, too.
(I LOVE the new hairdo!)
